Amazing Views On The West Coast Of North Wales

Have you ever been to Wales?Take Barmouth - Gwynedd for example, it is situated on the West coast of North Wales and offers amazing views stretching out far. Mountaineers love this region since it is situated in between a beautiful mountain range with the sea on the mouth of the river Mawddach.
Barmouth is near the South West corner of Snowdonia National Park with amazing panoramic views. If you love walking then you will love the views of the local scenery from the hilltops. If you have a dog then there are plenty of hotels allowing pets to stay and you can take your dog walking with you.

Barmouth's history dates back a long way, it goes way back to the shipping and slate industries. The old Town is worth visiting, especially if you love quaint cottages with slate roof's. There is also a wonderful harbour with a stunning bridge spanning the river, this is the perfect way to spend a romantic evening stroll. If you love walking then you will love this area of Wales.

There is a big beach that is great if you want to sunbathe in the summer. Families with small children love playing games on the beach. The beach is usually populated with surfers depending on the time of year and swells. The good thing about the beach is that it's so large that you can easily find a quieter area away from the busier parts.
There are many shops, bars, hotels and other places to stay. There is also a funfair in the area from March to October every year. There are a few caravan parks in the area where you can stay in a caravan or camp out. Camping is ideal for those who do not mind roughing it a little and children seem to love camping as well.

The Three Peaks Race takes place yearly and starts from Barmouth ending in Fort William. This race is very strenuous and only the top athletes take part as it includes, sailing from Wales to England then onto Scotland. The race in total is approximately 389 miles.

The Fairbourne and Barmouth Railway track is also situated in Barmouth. The railway track was first laid in 1895 by a man names Mr Arthur McDougall of 'McDougall's Flour' fame. It was constructed so that building materials could be transported for the building of Fairbourne village. All in all Barmouth is a wonderful place to visit and take the family or your pet dog!
